Faces of Haiti - My Paintings are My Prayers!

Since the devastating earthquake in Haiti on January 12th, many people have shown interest in my Faces of Haiti series of paintings. I visitied Haiti in 2003 and 2004 and brought back many images of the people, especially the people in the slums of La Saline and Cite Soleil. It is those people I try to capture on canvas, both the children and the adults.

I know these people - the Haiti boy holding a spoon (The Haiti Boy), the school girls (If You're Happy and You Know It!) and the old Haiti lady (A Face of Haiti)- may not be alive anymore. If they are still with us, their lives are filled with even more sadness, hunger and dispair. I hope they are safe and if they are not, I say a prayer of blessings for them and their families.

All the money from these paintings goes directly to the people in the Haiti slums. My paintings are my prayers!
